The Union City community is invited to this free presentation entitled Alzheimer’s Disease: Explored & Explained delivered by geriatric physician and Alzheimer's expert Dr. Laurel Coleman. It takes place Thursday November 8th at 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at AlmaVia of Union City, 33883 Alvarado-Niles Rd., There is no cost, as it is free to the public. From her presentation, attendees can learn about the right time to make their cared-for family member’s transition from home, hear the latest research on prevention and treatment, find out the why’s and how’s of advance care planning, learn about the changing demographics of Alzheimer’s disease, find out how families and physicians can best work together throughout the disease process and learn how dementia differs from the normal aging process. This is a rare opportunity to hear Dr. Coleman speak. Dr. Laurel Coleman is a geriatrician with special interests in Alzheimer's Disease. She received her medical training at UCSF and currently works at Maine Medical Center Geriatrics Division. She helps coordinate statewide and local conferences related to aging issues. Her impressive credentials include a Geriatric Fellowship at UNC Chapel Hill, being an eight-year member 
of the Board of Directors - Alzheimer’s Association, and being a current member of the Alzheimer’s Advisory Council to Health & Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.
