Wednesday, Sept. 21

Dublin City  announced his bid for U.S. Congress in California's new 15th Congressional District on Wednesday. 

Voters from Union City will become a part of the new 15th District and can cast their vote in the 2012 election.

Swalwell, a Democrat, will try to upset longtime incumbent Rep. Pete Stark, who currently represents the 13th District, in the new district. Learn more about Councilmember Swalwell . 

Also on Wednesday, photographer AJ Flores went to . The Humantiarian Assistance Club organized a mural that was created by Logan students and faculty over the school's two lunch periods.

Each student and faculty member who wanted their handprint included in the mural had their palm painted with one or multiple colors. They then approached large pieces of cloth that had been laid out and left their mark on the fabric. View photos of the making of the mural . 

Friday, Sept. 23

We previewed the upcoming Science in the Park, a collaborative effort between Union City and Hayward communities, schools and city groups to be held Oct. 1. The event will feature live music, interactive exhibits, a farmers market, face painting, and NASA. Find out more about this event .
