All lanes are now reopened on Southbound I-880 in Union City after a three-vehicle accident snarled traffic for nearly two hours.
The accident occurred at 10:30 a.m. when a tow truck driver traveling northbound on I-880 lost control of the vehicle and drove into the southbound lanes, the Fremont Argus reports.
The tow truck crashed into a silver Honda Accord and another vehicle.
Only minor injuries were reported.
According to the CHP website, a blocked left lane was cleared at about 12:20 p.m.
The pileup caused traffic delays in both directions. An hour after the accident, KCBS reported backups in the southbound direction from A Street in Hayward and northbound delays from Decoto Road in Fremont.
The traffic alert has since been lifted.
