Union City Boulevard Corridor Improvements on Schedule

The Union City Boulevard Corridor Improvements, Phase 1 project is on schedule to be substantially complete in mid-January 2013. The two incomplete construction items after January will be a slurry seal application and installation of permanent pavement markings. This schedule is dependent on weather as the project has experienced delays due to the number of recent precipitation events.

The project will not be 100% complete until late- spring. The pavement within the project limits will receive a slurry seal treatment and installation of thermoplastic pavement markings. The slurry seal cannot be applied until the weather has warmed significantly to allow proper curing of the slurry material.

USD Work on Decoto Neighborhood

Union Sanitary District (USD) will be performing sanitary sewer repairs on 5th Street between Decoto Road and ‘H’ Street. This work will occur between the work hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on December 26, 27 and 28. The work will require the closure of 5th Street and one lane of southbound Decoto Road during the work hours. USD has indicated that access to properties within the work/road closure area will be maintained for affected residents.
