Valentine’s Day has origins dating back to ancient Rome. February 14th was their holiday to honor Juno Fructifier, who was the goddess of marriage and Queen of the Roman gods.
Later, on February 14, 269 A.D. some historians believe the Roman, St. Valentine died as a religious martyr for clinging to his beliefs.
Since then Valentine’s Day has evolved into a day to express love and exchange sweet tokens of love.
School children swap cute cards and significant others watch out for flower deliveries on this holiday.
