Overnight Wind Mayhem: What Got Blown Around at Your House?

Gusty overnight winds left thousands without power throughout the Bay Area, and likely left a mess in your backyard.

As of 9:30 a.m., there may be as many as 500 Fremont customers without electricity, according to the PG&E Electrical System Outage Map. There are no current outages reported in Union City or Newark, according to the website.

Around the Bay Area 2,100 customers woke up Thursday without power due to the wind, PG&E spokeswoman Katie Romans said. That included 700 East Bay customers, though that number will dwindle as repair crews fix damaged lines.

In the Peninsula 200 had power knocked down. The South Bay had 900 customers still affected Thursday morning. In the Santa Cruz Mountains area, as many as 26,000 customers were without power overnight, a PG&E spokesman said.
