Video: Mighty4 Arts Foundation Honored at Hip-Hop Park Jam

Founded in Union City in 1998, the local arts group was inducted into the Union City Historical Museum at a celebration held Saturday afternoon.

The Mighty4 Arts Foundation celebrated 14 years of empowering communities around the world through music, art and dance with an old-school park jam on Saturday.

World famous breakdancers and DJs from throughout the region came out to party, dance and have a good time at for "Mighty4 Day" — a daylong celebration honoring the local arts foundation.

Co-hosted by the City of Union City's Youth and Family Services, the event included a proclamation presented by Union City Mayor Mark Green and an induction into the recognizing the group's accomplishments.

Founded in 1998 in Union City, the group's mission is to educate and empower youth by providing workshops focused on the teachings of hip-hop culture, according to founder Paul "Paulskee" Ruma. The foundation holds an annual festival in the Bay Area and hosts regular workshops in Union City.
