FLY FISHING SHOW

Where/When: Alameda County Fairgrounds; Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Why Go: Casting demonstrations, fly fishing instruction, new products, dealer displays, seminars, celebrity fly fishing personalities, art and more.

PINOCHLE GAMES FOR SENIORS

Where/When: Silliman Center in Newark; Friday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Why Go: It's an opportunity for seniors to play pinochle.

MONSTER JAM

Where/When: Oracle Arena in Oakland; Saturday at 7 p.m.

Why Go: See more than a dozen of the world's biggest and baddest monster trucks come to the Bay Area for an awesome show of horsepower. Trucks scheduled to appear include Grave Digger, Time Flys, Ironman and Tropical Thunder.

Pricing: $7.50-$125

SAN FRANCISCO BAY: FROM THE GOLD RUSH TO TODAY

Where/When: Learning Center of Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge; Sunday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Why Go: Learn the incredible history of the death and rebirth of the Bay and how local citizens struggled to save the Bay and its wetlands.

Pricing: Free

Where/When: ; Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Check out the second art show that allows seniors to participate in storytelling while youth develop their artistic skills.
