Disappearance of Michelle Le Tops Past Week's Coverage

Monday

Hayward Police announced they were from a missing person case to a homicide investigation, citing information gleaned from interviews, Le's cell phone records and forensic evidence collected from Le's car and from the Kaiser hospital parking structure.

At an last Saturday, more than 100 Ohlone College students were honored for scholarships they received this spring. At the event, Union City resident Tiffany Hoang was chosen for a $1,000 award from the Tri-Cities Rotary Clubs.

With a 1-0 clincher against De La Salle Monday night, the James Logan High School baseball team for the season. It was the first section title in a decade for the Colts.

Michelle Le's relatives, accompanied by child safety advocate Marc Klaas, Tuesday, telling the press that although HPD has reclassified the case as a homicide, until they are given proof that she is dead, they are not giving up hope.

Wednesday

The New Haven Teachers' Association with the New Haven Unified School District. The tentative agreement mirrors the district's updated budget proposal, which now includes some money for sports and music programs, adult education and the libraries at middle schools and high schools.

News broke that a person of interest in Michelle Le's disappearance had a three days before Le went missing.

Thursday

Patch reported on a coming to Union City. The first event will take place June 21, and is organized by the Union City Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Grill Stars Curbside Cuisine.

 included several street robberies, a home invasion and a teenager who reached out for help when she noticed a man following her home. A Union City Public Works employee helped uncover stolen property in San Jose, while police found and arrested a man after he caused a disturbance in Rite Aid.

Sunday

Family and friends of Michelle Le on Mission Boulevard and then walked door-to-door at apartment complexes located on Ponderosa Court in Hayward, where police later discovered Le's car after her disappearance.
