What's Next: Tully's Bella Bottega Space Likely to Become Restaurant

What would you like to see go in at Redmond's two vacant Tully's locations? Tell us in the comments section.

It's been more than a month since Tully's filed for bankruptcy and closed its large Bella Bottega location.

Although the storefront's windows remain covered in brown butcher paper, Bella Bottega property manager Brad Merlino said the shopping center is actively seeking a new tenant, specifically a restaurant that could utilize the space's outdoor area.

"We have multiple offers on the space,” Merlino told Patch last week.

For instant updates, follow Redmond Patch on Facebook and Twitter.

Merlino said the 3,000-square-foot space will "definitely not" continue as a coffee shop, adding that Tully's struggled to break even at Bella Bottega, even though it was one of the local chain's highest-grossing locations.

“It’s just too big for a coffee shop to make it there,” he said.

Merlino declined to get into specifics on possible restaurant tenants for the space but said property managers are looking for a business that would offer something not already found at Bella Bottega.

“We’re really careful and really cautious about having synergy in the shopping center and not too much overlap,” he said.

Meanwhile, the smaller Redmond Town Center Tully's location also remains vacant after closing its doors on Oct. 7.

“We don’t have anything new in mind for that yet," said Christina Henning, senior marketing manager for Redmond Town Center. "We have a lot of interest, though. It’s a very popular space.”

Redmond really needs as unique, friendly, and reasonable breakfast restaurant like Patty's Eggnest or The Portage Bay Cafe. Both have websites if you need to see what we mean. Remember the Brown Bag? That is what is missing in Redmond.

Wine bar. Vino Bella would be nice. With lots of music several nights a week. Jazz, Shaggy Sweet Band, Big Band. Tons of energy for people from 35-70 to dance. Elegant environment with great small bites plates.

I'm confused, if Merlino said, ".... property managers are looking for a business that would offer something not already found at Bella Bottega." why are they still looking at another restaurant? In the same parking lot there are at least five or six restaurants.

Hi Tamara, thanks for your comment. Merlino was referring to the variety of restaurants--in other words, they're not looking for another Irish pub or pizza joint, because JJ Mahoney's and MOD Pizza are already located in the shopping center. I understand your point about there being too many restaurants, however, and I'm sure others would agree.

I think Pasta & Co would be perfect for the Bella Bottega Tully's location. Their old location in Redmond wasn't the right area. The shape of the store would be perfect with the outdoor seating.
