Logan High Street Eats attendees were treated to a surprise Tuesday evening. Shortly after 6:30 p..m., the crowd of about 100 local foodies were enjoying their meals as members of the dance studio broke out into a series of Zumba routines.
Instructor Cheryl Louie, a Union City resident who teaches in Newark, led a group of about 40 — which grew as community members joined in — starting with pop hit "Moves Like Jagger" and continuing with a number of high energy songs to compliment the new fitness sensation, which combines a variety of Latin movements with hip-hop, bhangra and other forms of dance.
Located at 5437 Central Ave. in Newark, Studio Z offers a range of classes and programs, including Zumba fitness, Zumba in the Circuit, Zumba + Abs as well as yoga workouts.
