'Union City Eats' Food Truck Dinner Menu: Aug. 25

Today's food truck festival will feature 10 trucks.

The Food Truck Mafia and the Union City Chamber of Commerce's "Union City Eats" returns to give you your weekly food fix. Ten trucks roll into Union Landing alongside Walmart from 4:30 to 9 p.m.

Here's the roster for today. (Note: Lineup is subject to change.)

BBQKalbi

  • A Union City Eats regular, BBQ Kalbi features a Korean fusion menu that ranges from Kalbi (beef) to Spicy Pollo (chicken) burritos to Kimchi quesadillas. Their unagi (eel) burritos have been a hit at the Union City events.

Five Ten Burger

  • Back for the second time, this Oakland-based truck speciializes in artisan burgers and sandwiches made with fresh ingredients from local sources. The meat, purchased from a Bay Area market, is freshly ground each morning. The owner even hand-makes his own mayonnaise (three different flavors). You can also add an egg to any burger.

  • This Fremont-based American BBQ food truck makes sure each visit is a new experience by switching up their menu every week. Keeping fans in suspense, they release their menu the day of the festival. Stay tuned to their Facebook page to find out what's they're cooking up today.

MoBowl

  • It’s in the name. MoBowl specializes in rice bowls that are served with small salads. Menu choices range from Five-Spice Pulled Pork to Peanut Pesto Chicken. An Umami Tofu option is available for vegetarians.

MoGoBBQ

  • MoGo BBQ specializes in Korean BBQ served in burritos, tacos, sliders, quesadillas and bacon-wrapped hot dogs with kimchi. Get there early because their lines can get long.

That’s Sweet! Dessert Truck

  • Cupcakes — yummy, specialty cupcakes — are the stars of this gourmet truck. Flavors range from Salted Caramel and Maple Bacon to Red Velvet and Chocolate Vanilla. While it may sound perfect for a dessert, don't wait too long — their cupcakes sell out fast.

House of Siam on Wheels

  • A mobile version of the House of Siam restaurant in San Jose, the truck specializes in Thai cuisine and includes Thai tacos, Pad Thai, Yellow Curry Chicken over rice and more. Try their "roti boquet," grilled satay chicken rolled in a roti with peanut sauce, fresh green leafs, cucumbers, carrots, red onions and cilantro.

Twisted Chill

  • Also a regular feature at the weekly food truck gathering is Twisted Chill, which offers self-serve soft-serve with eight rotating flavors and more than 20 toppings. Toppings include fresh organic fruit, candies, cereals and more.

Whole Bowl

  • This truck specializes in noodle entrees, including Vietnamese noodle soups, vermicelli bowls and Pad Thai. They also serve mac and cheese, a dish their fans rave about.

Yumsilog

  • This truck specializes in silogs, a traditional Filipino breakfast. “Silog” is an abbreviated suffix for dishes traditionally served with garlic rice ("sinangag") and fried egg ("itlog"). The menu inclues including tapsilog (tapa), tosilog (tocino), longsilog (longanisa), Spamsilog and bangsilog, which features bangus, the Filipino milkfish.
