More than 550 customers were impacted after electricity shut off near Automall Parkway, which is located near Pacific Commons and The Block at Pacific Commons — a retail area anchored by a Century Theaters, Target, Kohl's, Nordstrom Rack and more.

The power outage is believed to have been caused by an underground equipment failure, Guidi said, but the exact equipment failure and location of it was still unknown.

The estimated time of power restoration was unknown as of 8 p.m.
