Beer Pong Tournament Starts Thursday at Chaplin’s

The tournament will be held every Thursday at 10 p.m. through April 4.

All those drunken nights in your dorm room weren’t a total waste.

If you spent more time pondering the physics of the arc shot vs. the fastball instead of actually studying for your science class, then Chaplin’s Sports Bistro wants you.

Starting Thursday, Chaplin’s will host its 1st Annual Beer Pong Tournament.

The tournament will be held every Thursday from 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. through April 4.

For those who’ve never played the game, the rules are pretty simple. Teams assemble a triangle of usually six or 10 plastic cups on each end. The cups are filled up about one-quarter with beer. Players take turns tossing a ping pong ball into the opponent’s cup. If you sink it, the other team drinks it.

Registration for the tournament has been extended and is still open, co-owner Alfred Anderson said Wednesday.

Registration is $10 per team of two.

First place tournament winners will receive four tickets to Great America. Second place winners will receive four tickets to an Oakland A’s home game.

There will also be prizes for best team uniform, raffles, giveaways and drink specials.

Participants must be 21 or over in order to participate, of course.

For more information or to register, contact Alfred at 510-731-7983.
