Despite the owner of 's recent legal troubles, the Old Alvarado clothing store carries on, conducting business as usual. Still a community hub, the location became the backdrop for a music video last weekend.
On Jan. 30, Oakland-based garage/pop-punk band Golda and the Guns filmed a portion of their new music video, "Drop You," at Kingdom.
The video will be entered in the 4th Annual Toyota DIY Music Video Contest in San Francisco and will premiere at the 29th SSan Francisco International Asian American Film Festival's official kick-off party at 111 Minna Gallery in San Francisco on Feb. 10.
"Drop You" is directed by Werner Von Goff and produced by Judith Ferrer from Bindlestiff Studios, a Filipino-American arts and theater production company based in San Francisco. Bay Area actor and comedian Kevin Camia is featured as the music video's main character.
The project was shot by Paciano Triunfo, the director of photography and a Union City native. He takes us behind-the-scenes of the shoot. Check out the photos below.
