Tri-Cities Alive With the Sound of Classic Movies

See your old favorites on the big screen every Wednesday at Century Theaters at Pacific Commons in Fremont or Century 25 Union Landing in Union City. The Sound of Music plays Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The camera pans across the green expanse of the Austrian mountains as the music begins to build. Suddenly, Julie Andrews comes twirling into view and belts in perfect tune, "the hills are alive, with the sound of music..."

This classic opening scene can be enjoyed in all its technicolor glory on the big screen for one-day only on Wednesday, Jan. 16. "The Sound of Music" is showing as part of Cinemark's "Classic Series" at Century Theaters at Pacific Commons in Fremont and Century 25 Union Landing in Union City

Showtimes are 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. every Wednesday. Buy tickets online on the Cinemark website.

Here's the schedule for the Cinemark Classics:

I have not watched any of them which makes the event that much better. Also just putting old movies and music together is incredible. One of my favorites is With Words and Music, from 1937. You can watch it online http://www.bnwmovies.com/with-words-and-music.html
