Island Grooves Featured at Sandy Hook Benefit Concert

The New Haven Pilipino American Society for Education's "Sharing Aloha: Island Style from California," a benefit for Sandy Hook Elementary School, on Saturday, Jan. 26.

The Pilipino American Society for Education (PASE) will help sponsor a benefit concert Saturday, Jan. 26, in memory of the victims of the school shooting last month in Newtown, Conn.

"Sharing Aloha: Island Style from California," to be held at Cesar Chavez Middle School from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., will include performances from Native Elements and CRSB, as well as Pacific Soul, Island Blend, Ka Nalu and Na Leo Pumehana, PASE member and James Logan High counselorΒ Joe AngelesΒ reports. All proceeds will be donated to Sandy Hook Elementary School, where 20 students and six educators were killed Dec. 14 when a man with an assault rifle invaded the school.

Advance tickets, priced at $30, are available online (www.eventbrite.com/event/5158043848/es2001/?rank=1#) and will include a plate lunch and beverage. Tickets will be $40 at the door.
