7th Annual Sister City Festival

The gala cultural event on August 21 will include an entertainment program showcasing the best of each sister city’s culture. The Sister Cities include: Pasay City, Philippines; Santa Rosalia, Mexico; Jalandhar, India; Chiang Rai, Thailand, and Liyang, China.

A sumptuous buffet dinner will be included with food from local restaurants. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample authentic ethnic cuisine and develop a greater appreciation for the cultural diversity within our community.

Dancers and musicians will be performing that represent each of our sister cities and their respective countries.

The line-up includes:

  • Steps, Styles & Spotlights - Traditional Filipino Dancing
  • Wat Buddanasorn - Thai Performance
  • Lisa Performing Arts - Traditional Chinese Dance
  • Ollin Anahuac - Traditional Aztec Dance Group
  • Bhangra and Giddha Dance Troupe - Indian Dance

About the Friends of the Sister Cities

The Union City Sister City Festival is organized by the Union City Friends of Sister Cities, a volunteer group comprised of individuals with ties to each of the five sister cities: Liyang, China; Pasay City, Philippines; Santa Rosalia, Mexico; Jalandhar, India; and Chiang Rai, Thailand. All Sister City events and cultural visitations are funded privately by its members and through its annual Sister City Festival event.
