Union City Man Claims $233,000 Thanks to $1 Mega Millions Lottery Ticket

Deogracias Pingul bought his winning ticket at the Island Pacific Supermarket in Union City

A Union City man has won more than $233,000 on a Mega Millions Quick Pick ticket, California Lottery officials said today.

Deogracias Pingul, a regular lottery player, said he bought the $1 ticket at Island Pacific Supermarket in Union City because he won a dollar on another game, according to lottery officials.

The ticket matched five of the six numbers in Friday night's drawing, winning $233,651. The winning numbers were 15, 10, 54, 1 and 41, while the ticket was missing the Mega Number 9. A $30 million jackpot winner in that same drawing, who purchased a ticket in Los Angeles, has still not come forward, officials said.

Lottery winners have 180 days to claim their prizes.
