This Week: Tea Party, Logan Play, Education Expo

Here's what's going down in and around Union City this week

Here are five events coming up this week that you should know about:

  • Writing a memoir? The session is led by Suzanne Ortt, a contributor to Tri-City Voice and Union City Patch. For more information, contact Ortt at 510-489-3793 or bklady68@gmail.com.
  • Learn how to save money for your business at the City of Union City and , to be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Crowne Plaza Hotel. The program will focus mostly on PG&E's High Performance Lighting Program and Comprehensive Food Processing Program for large warehouse and commercial office buildings and food manufacturing facilities, but will also touch on the Energy Smart Campaign and the BEST Program for smaller businesses.
  • Enjoy English tea and a salad lunch while being serenaded by classical musicians at Acacia Creek. From 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, the Mission Hills retirement community is hosting .   • See the James Logan High School Drama Department in action as they perform "The Diviners," a play by Jim Leonard, Jr. . There will also be a 1 p.m. showing on Saturday as well
  • The Alameda County Office of Education hosts . The event will feature a variety of booths and workshops, including video and animation production, cyber-bullying, and more. Attendees will also get to meet Pixar animator Jim Capobianco and see an animation screening. To make it even better, the school with the most students participating will be awarded a computer lab.
