This Week: Register for Fun Run, Watch a Forensics Tournament, Give Blood

Here are five things coming up this week that you should know about:

  • Get ready and register for the ’s Anniversary 5K/10K Fun Run & Walk. The event will be held March 11 and will also include 5K Stroller and Pet Walking divisions. You can pick up a registration form at the Union City Sports Center or download the registration form here. For more information, call 510-675-5808.
  • Join the and help plan events leading up to Relay for Life, a 24-hour event held in August to raise funds to fight cancer. A committee meeting will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday night at 32980 Alvarado Niles Rd., Ste. 812. Fore more information, contact committee chair Jennifer Dudley at 510-363-9009.
  • Prepare for the U.S. naturalization test by registering for the classes at the Union City Library. The series of eight classes are led by the New Haven Adult School. Registration is $55.   • More than 1,000 students will compete in a series of speech and debate matches at James Logan High School for their annual . The event begins Friday night and runs through Sunday afternoon. For more information, visit the Logan forensics website
