This Week: Mobile Health Clinic, Watercolor Workshop, Craft Faire

What's happening around town this week

Here are five things going on this week that you need to know about:

  • As it does the fourth Monday of every month, the returns to the today from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The mobile clinic provides health care to uninsured and underserved residents. To make an appointment, or for more information, call 510-608-3203.
  • Families coping with alcoholism can receive support Wednesday nights at Kaiser Permanente in Union City. "" helps relatives and friends of alcoholics by sharing experiences in order to solve their common problems. Likewise, "" helps children and young adults ages 12-20 who are troubled by someone's drinking. Adults who are screened members of Al-Anon work with the teens. Both programs are held at 7:45 p.m. at Union City Kaiser.
  • Peter Kolesnikov, a James Logan High School teacher accused of having sex with a 16-year-old student, is scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. at the Fremont Hall of Justice on Thursday, March 29. Kolesnikov is currently out of custody. Arrested Jan. 12 while on his way to meet with the juvenile victim, Kolesnikov eventually posted bail on Jan. 26.
  • Teens ages 13-19 can join artist Jan Schafir for a . No previous art experience is necessary. In order to reserve a spot for the workshop, contact the information desk at the Union City Library at 510-745-1464.
  • The annual is this Sunday. An all day affair, the event will feature unique handmade crafts, cool gift items and more.
