This Week: Community Dinner, Niles Holiday Parade, Train of Lights

Here's what's going down in and around Union City this week

Here are five events coming up this week that you should know about:

  • The this week up until Dec. 15. Toys can be dropped off at the NHTA office, located at 32980 Alvarado-Niles Rd., Suite 812, from 2 to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays until Dec. 15.
  • For those who are in need, the Tri-Cities League of Volunteers is hosting its annual from noon until 4 p.m. on Thursday at the Newark Pavilion. Dinner will include turkey and all the traditional Thanksgiving fixings from stuffing to potatoes. All are welcome – no questions asked.   • Welcome the holidays with in historic Niles on Friday, Nov. 25 starting at 6:30 p.m. The event will feature a tree lighting, followed by the parade. featured more than 60 participants, from giant floats to drill and dance teams. To participate, or for more information, call 510-792-8023.
  • Join the James Logan High School's award-winning and nationally acclaimed forensics team for their on Nov. 25 at Logan's Performing Arts Center. The event starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8.
  • Ready for the holidays? Celebrate by checking out the , which runs from Nov. 25 to Dec. 23. Tickets are $25 to take a train ride with decked-out antique coaches and open cars. Holiday music will play as you take a one-hour ride from Niles Canyon to Sunol and back. to read more info.
