St. Anne's Summer Festival Boasts Local Talent, Great Raffle Prizes this Weekend

From practically sunrise to sunset, there will be something to entertain, or to eat, at the St. Anne's Annual Summer Festival, July 23-24.

In June, celebrated its 38th anniversary as not only a church, but a community institution. That celebration continues with their , being held this weekend.

This year’s festival theme is "Living Out Our Faith Through the Years” and St. Anne’s parishioners will glorify these words with great food, fun and games for the kids, and non-stop entertainment.

“A lot of our parishioners are extremely talented and will be performing all day long,” said Sydney Gargan, a member of St. Anne’s.

Here's what you can expect this weekend:

  • Entertainment: The vibrant sounds of a Mariachi band will kick off the festivities Saturday morning at 8 a.m., with the sounds and sights will continuing until the festival shuts down Sunday night at 8 p.m. There will also be ongoing entertainment booths and games that can be enjoyed throughout the day.
  • Food: You can get a full taste of Union City's diverse culture, from American BBQ and Mexican cuisine to Portuguese and Filipino fare. Everything will be served up hot and authentic, as food should be.
  • Games: Of course, you can’t have a successful festival without games for the kids and St. Anne’s promises to have plenty of fair and fruitful points of amusement for the little ones.
  • Raffle: Buy one raffle ticket or 100 - the prizes are great and your odds pretty good. The first drawing prize is $2,500, the second drawing winner gets a choice of one round trip to Manila or two round trips to Hawaii from Mango Tours, with third place winning $500 and $200 for fourth place.

The happens this weekend Saturday, July 23, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, July 24, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
