Senior Scam Stopper Seminars Planned in Union City, Fremont, Hayward

Seniors are easy targets for unlicensed contractors. Learn how to not be a victim of common home and auto repair scams by attending a Senior Scam Stopper seminar happening this week.

Seniors can learn how to identify frequent scams by unlicensed contractors by attending a Senior Scam Stopper seminar being held in Union City, Fremont and Hayward.

 Assembly member Bill Quirk, D-Hayward, and the Contractor’s State License Board, will host the seminars. A panel of experts will discuss how to prevent identity theft, how to stay away from investment scams and what seniors should look for and ask before hiring any home or auto repair contractors.

 The free seminars will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday July 30 at the Hayward Area Senior Center, 22325 N. Third St., Hayward; Wednesday July 31 at the Fremont Multi-Service Senior Center, 40086 Paseo Padre Parkway, Fremont; and Thursday August 1 at the Ralph & Mary Ruggieri Senior Center, 33997 Alvarado-Niles Road, Union City.
