Our Lady of the Rosary to Hold Thanksgiving Feast for Those in Need

The Thanksgiving Day meal will be served at 1 p.m. Food and monetary donations to assist with the meal are being accepted.

With Thanksgiving just a few days away, is gearing up for its annual feast for the needy and elderly.

The meal will be served at 1 p.m. on Thursday in the church hall, located at 703 C St. in the Decoto neighborhood.

The church is asking the community for their support to help with the holiday feast.

“Last year our parishioners and others in the community were very generous in their support of our Thanksgiving dinner,” noted the weekly church newsletter.

“The costs of the dinner were completely covered through cash and food donations. We hope this is the case again this year.”

Those wishing to donate food or money to help with the feast can drop off items at the church’s main office between 6 and 7 p.m. today. Cash and check donations can also be given directly to Father Jose Leon or left in his office to his attention.

According to the church’s newsletter, the church is in need of tomatoes, celery, onions, potatoes (fresh or mashed), bell peppers, yams and Stove Top Stuffing Mix.
