1. SCIENCE IN THE PARK

Where/When: Alden E. Oliver Sports Park, 2580 Eden Park Place, Hayward; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Children can become Einstein for a day and explore the worlds of Earth, health and science. The event will feature rocket launches, science experiments, an egg drop contest, face painting and more.

Price: Free

2. OUR LADY OF THE ROSARY FESTIVAL

Where/When: Our Lady of the Rosary, 703 C St., Union City; 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Why Go: Held all day long, the festival will have plenty to see, do and eat. The annual event will feature dozens of game and food vendors, a car show and a variety of performers.

Price: $5 per costume

3. ASIAN AMERICAN DONOR PROGRAM BONE MARROW DRIVES

Where/When: Induz Organization, 37720 Fremont Blvd., Fremont; Saturday from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. + Forerunner Christian Church, 39620 Sundale Dr., Fremont; Sunday from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Why Go: Help save lives and register to be a donor in the National Bone Marrow Registry, which is in need of Asian American donors. According to the Asian American Donor Program, several Bay Area residents are in need of bone marrow donors, including 2-year-old Jeremy Kong from San Francisco.

Price: Free

4. NILES PINK FLAMINGO PEE WEE GOLF TOURNAMENT

Where/When: Niles District (tickets available at Nile Cafe, 121 I St.), Fremont; Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Putt your way through mini golf courses throughout Fremont's historic Niles district. Holes will have different themes and the event proceeds will benefit the Niles Main Street Association. 

Price: $10 for adults and $5 for children

5. DANS DI BALLO 1ST ANNUAL BREAST CANCER AWARENESS EVENT

Where/When: W Silicon Valley Hotel, 8200 Gateway Blvd., Newark; Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.

Why Go: Celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Dans di Ballo. Enjoy zumba and meet local leaders as they join together for a worthy cause. Dans di Ballo will also deliver a check to Washington Hospital to help low income women afford mammograms.

Pricing: $20 in advance and $25 at the door
