1. MUTT STRUT

Where/When: Masonic Homes of Union City, 34400 Mission Blvd., Union City; Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon

Why Go: This fun walk or run event is designed for you and your pooch. The event will feature dog games, a dog costume contest, vendors, prizes and more

Price: Registration is $30 per person or $50 for a family registration pack.

2. MOTHERS OF MULTIPLES FALL GEAR AND EQUIPMENT SALE

Where/When: First Presbyterian Church of Newark, 35450 Newark Blvd., Newark; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Why Go: Find fantastic deals on baby and kids gear and equipments. Items on sale will include costumes, clothes, beddings, toys and more.

Price: Free

3. RUN 4 EDUCATION

Where/When: Lake Elizabeth, Fremont; Sunday starting at 7:30 a.m.

Why Go: Help raise money for the Fremont Education Foundation’s Guy Emanuele Sports Fund at this 5K/10K walk and run event around Lake Elizabeth. Younger children can also compete in the Tiny Trot 1/2 Mile and 1/4 Mile. For more information, click here.

Price: $25 for children, $35 for adults

4. SUNDAY AFTERNOON CONCERT SERIES

Where/When: MacGregor Alternative Education Center, 35753 Cedar Blvd., Newark; Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Catch dynamic a cappella quintet Talk of da Town, who were finalists on NBC's "Sing Off." The group will take you down memory lane with doo-wop, Motown, R&B and soul.

Price: $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and students 12-18, $3 children

5. HALLOWEEN COSTUME SWAP AND CARNIVAL

Where/When: Pacific West Gymnastics, 32920 Alvarado-Niles Rd. Ste 210, Union City; Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m.

Why Go: Don't throw out your child's old costume and buy another expensive one from the store. Instead, stop by this costume swap and pick up a new (to your child) costume. Drop off costumes from 2-2:45 p.m. and swap from 3 to 5 p.m. The Swap is FREE. There will also be an open gym for kids starting at 2 p.m. which costs $5 to participate.

Pricing: Free for the costume swap, $5 for open gym
