1. XPLORE YOGA'S ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Where/When: Xplore Yoga, 5572 Newpark Plz., Newark; Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: Celebrate the local yoga studio's one-year anniversary with a day of free yoga classes, food, music and prizes. See the full free class schedule here.

2. NEWARK AND FREMONT COMMUNITY CARNIVAL

Where/When: Bay Area Baptist Church, 38517 Birch St., Newark; Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m.

Why Go: Have a screamin' good time at this free family-friendly event that features 25 game booths, three jumpers, an indoor maze, a number of competitions, face painting and more. For more details, click here.

3. PACWEST GYMNASTICS' FAMILY HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL

Where/When: Pacific West Gymnastics, 32920 Alvarado-Niles Rd., Union City; Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Why Go: The community is invited to come out for a fun evening of games, free play in the gym, a bounce house, candy and giveaways, and a Halloween costume parade. Make sure to wear your costume and invite your family and friends!

4. UNION CITY'S ANNUAL HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL

Where/When: Holly Community Center, 31600 Alvarado Blvd., Union City; Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Explore a city full of ghost and goblins at this safe event designed for children ages 3 to 12 (and their parents too). Tour the "spooky maze, play ghoulish games, win wicked prizes and have some tasty treats."

Price: $5 in advance, $7 the day of the event

5. BIKE CLINIC AND WOMEN'S RIDE

Where/When: CentriPEDAL Bikes, 3646 Thornton Ave., Fremont; Sunday from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

Why Go: Learn how to install and adjust your bike's brakes and take a community bike ride. The local bike shop will hold a 30-minute clinic from 1:30 to 2 p.m. At 2 p.m., beginner teen and women bikers ages 13 and up will participate in a group bike ride. Slots are limited to 15 participants so sign up early.
