Where/When: Weight Watchers, 39152 Paseo Padre Pkwy., Fremont; Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Why Go: Kick off Weight Watchers' annual Lose For Good food drive with demonstrations, prizes, refreshments and more. The event is also an open house for community members to learn more about Weight Watchers' services and products.

Where/When: Lake Elizabeth/Central Park (Mission View Dr & Paseo Padre Pkwy), Fremont; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Paint outdoors at the Fremont Art Association event. Artists will paint until 2 p.m., with a reception at the Park Pavilion from 2:30 to 4 p.m. All two-dimensional mediums will be accepted, though artists should bring their own supplies.

Price: $15 for FAA members and $25 for non-members

Why Go: Children in grades 2 through 5 will learn basketball fundamentals in a low coach-to-athlete ratio in this daylong camp hosted by Uptempo Hoops. To register or learn more, .

Why Go: Receive free dance demos, see performances and enjoy refreshments during the Union City dance studio's Fall Open House. The first 30 families to visit will receive a free bag. New members who sign up for classes that day will receive free registration.
