1. ZUMBA FOR ZOE

Why Go: Proceeds from this memorial event in honor of late teen Zoe Inciong will go to the Zoe Inciong Memorial Scholarship fund for graduating scholar athletes. Read more about the event and the scholarship here.

2. SCARLETT'S 2ND BIRTHDAY BLOOD DRIVE

Where/When: First Presbyterian Church of Newark, 35450 Newark Blvd., Newark; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Cancer-surviving toddler Scarlett Wecks is turning 2, and you’re invited to her birthday bash! Scarlett was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of 2 months and has since undergone several surgeries and rounds of chemotherapy. To celebrate her life, her family is hosting a blood drive.

Price: Free

3. 24-HOUR BIOBLITZ

Where/When: Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge, 1 Marshlands Road, Fremont; from 3 p.m. Saturday to 3 p.m. Sunday

Why Go: More than 200 people are expected to attend this fun 24-hour event. Activities include a live bat exhibition, hikes, reptile and bird surveys, and more.

Price: Free

Where/When: Ohlone College Newark Center for Health Sciences and Technology, 39399 Cherry St., Newark; Saturday from 8 to 10 p.m.

Why Go: Renowned jazz guitarist Grant Geissman brings his unique sound to the Ohlone stage. His versatile compositions include 14 chart-topping collections of works.

Price: $15-$20; $2 for parking

5. GECK TREK FOR PANCREATIC CANCER

Where/When: Quarry Lakes Regional Recreation Area, 2100 Isherwood Way, Fremont; Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Why Go: Help fight against pancreatic cancer by participating in this 2K fun run/walk and BBQ. The event includes the scenic run along with a kids zone, silent auction and post-run barbecue. To register or learn more about the event, click here.

Pricing: $30 for adults, $20 for children 15 and under, $80 for family registration
