Pacific Coast Farmers’ Market Association is excited to announce the grand opening of the new East Plaza Farmers’ Market in Union City on Saturday, April 19.

The farmers’ market will take place each Saturday throughout the year from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Union City in the East Plaza at the intersection of 11th and Decoto Road.

“We’re looking forward to the opening of the East Plaza Farmers’ Market,” said John Silviera, Director of PCFMA. “With such a great new location, we are pleased to offer members of the community the opportunity to buy local and eat healthy.” The market was originally scheduled to open last summer, but PCFMA decided to push the opening to spring 2014 in order to offer a bigger and better variety of fresh produce to the community.

The East Plaza Market is a great way for the Union City community to support local California farmers. Local farmers and other producers will bring their best late spring produce like asparagus, strawberries, Asian produce, leafy greens, cherries, and peas, all locally grown and straight from the fields.

The grand opening on April 19th will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, a raffle contest, live music by guitarist Eric Morris, a free photo booth and face painting.
