Yes ! I know we live in California !! But living so close to the Hayward fault has a definite charm!😳 It was a jolt and a noise like someone shutting a door ! We were waiting for more ...but thank God that was it!

I usually shrug these off too as part of being a Californian, but this one caught me off guard by how different it felt because it was only 3 miles deep. I heard the noise of it too and it was such a jolt. It felt like my neighbor's house rammed into mine. I'm still surprised it was only a 3.0. My CERT mode went into effect but I wasn't exactly wanting this to be THE random day that the big one hits. Some quakes relieve pressure, some create more. Being a slip-slide fault, or any other for that matter, one never knows if it's a precursor or not unfortunately. I'm behind Ardenwood and it felt like it moved my house (& me) about a foot over.

Yeah, that was a chippy one in our city.
