Annual Turkey Trot to be Held Sunday

The event will feature a 5K and 10K for recreational and competitive runners, along with and 400-meter run for youth.

The Logan High cross country team’s annual “Turkey Trot” will be held Sunday (Nov. 24), at Cesar Chavez Middle School. Runners of all ages and abilities are invited to take part in events ranging from a 400-meter run for young runners to 5- and 10-kilometer races for recreational and competitive runners.

Registration is $10 for elementary and middle schoolers and $15 for 5K and 10K participants, and the first 200 registrants receive a free t-shirt. More information is available by contacting Coach Lee Webb (510-304-7172 or lwebb@nhusd.k12.ca.us).

The cross country team also is selling tickets for its annual Christmas Tree Raffle. Coach Webb and his team will give away 25 trees in the Dec. 11 drawing. Tickets are $1 each.

Coach Webb also reports that several former Olympic track and field athletes will be available to visit District classrooms and speak to students during the week before the annual Willie Davenport Olympian Clinic, scheduled Saturday, Feb. 8, at Logan.
