Little Ones Can do Downward Dog Too
Ayuh Yoga, Union City's only yoga center, teaches tykes how to get fit and have fun.
Fifteen years ago, Brian Reed had a dream of spreading the good word about wellness. His dream is now a reality since opening Union City's first yoga wellness center earlier this year.
Ayuh Yoga opened its doors in May, geting Union City's adults--and kids--excited about exercise.
Ayuh, pronounced "I-U" and meaning long life and vitality in Sanskrit, offers classes for all ages and levels. Programs include Hot Yoga, Strengthening Yoga and Power Yoga, along with family-friendly classes such as Mommy, Baby and Kids Yoga.
Kids Yoga classes are held three times a week--Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays-- for children ages 4 to 12. For a full schedule of programs, which includes fitness training and more, visit Ayuh's Web site at www.ayuhyoga.com.
Reed's goal for the next year is to get one-percent of Union City fit.
"Health and wellness is a lifestyle," he says. "There is no such thing as a quick fix."
Union City Patch's Monique Soltani drops in on Ayuh Yoga's pint-sized class and shows why local kids are giddy about getting fit.
